Microneedling

Microneedling

Microneedling

There’s a reason why this treatment is so popular with celebrities: It encourages the natural production of collagen and elastin, resulting in softer, smoother, younger-looking skin at any age. It also minimizes the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Isn’t it time you treated yourself like a star?

Microneedling

Treatment Areas

  • Face (including acne scars)
  • Neck
  • Décolleté
  • Arms and hands
  • Abdomen
  • Back
  • Body scars and stretch marks

The Procedure

We begin with the application of a numbing cream to help with comfort during the procedure. Our professional will use a hand-held device (a pen) set specifically to address your skincare needs. She will then lightly and shallowly penetrate your skin in a circular motion until the entire treatment area has been covered. This action stimulates the underlying cells to produce collagen and elastin: two proteins responsible for young, healthy-looking skin. If we pair that process with the boost of platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy – in a treatment sometimes referred to as a “vampire facial” – you’ll see quicker and even more dramatic results, repairing uneven skin tone, wrinkles and fine lines.

Results

Immediately after the treatment, your skin may look like you’ve gotten a sunburn and feel tight and mildly sensitive – an effect that will lessen within a day or two. Visible changes develop over the course of several weeks and can continue to improve up to six months after treatment, as collagen production continues.

Some clients require only a single facial treatment each year, but most should plan to receive six treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. A regimen of 6-8 treatments is recommended to improve the appearance of deep wrinkles, stretch marks, or scars.

Post-Treatment

Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours and limit your exposure to extreme heat, the sun or exercise until the redness goes away. Cleanse your skin gently and wash your hands before applying post-care serums. A clean pillowcase is also recommended.

Optional Add-Ons

Exosomes: Exosomes are a human-derived stem cell that are FDA approved to be microneedled into the skin. Exosomes hold numerous growth factor properties that aid in correcting fine lines, wrinkles and age spots, redness and skin irritation, skin lesions and scars, texture and pore size, as well as overall brightness and hydration. This add on is very comparable to the PRP add on. It is a great option for patients that want all of the benefits of PRP, but don’t do well for blood drawing, or simply don’t prefer it.

PRP: Just like the PRP treatment, PRP can also be microneedled into your skin to improve healing time, and encourage extra collagen stimulation. The growth factor properties held by your own PRP can help take your microneedling treatment to the next level.
